Nvidia Hit by China’s AI Chip Launch

Huawei is set to launch its new Ascend 910C AI chip, intensifying its rivalry with Nvidia amid U.S. trade restrictions.

Huawei, the technology behemoth of China, has once again escalated its competition with Nvidia by announcing its intention to release a new AI chip in the near future.

The Asian technology behemoth is on the brink of unveiling its revolutionary Ascend 910C AI chip.

Chinese companies are transitioning to the new AI chip in response to the United States’ AI-chip trade restrictions and business sanctions against China.

Huawei, is set to introduce a new AI chip that is comparable to Nvidia

The WSJ reported today, August 13, that Huawei is preparing to unveil its Ascend 910C AI chip in the near future.

It was further stated that Chinese internet and telecommunications companies are currently conducting tests on the most recent AI chip in an effort to enhance the user experience.

Additionally, it appears that the Shenzhen-based technology giant has boasted about its new AI chip capabilities to potential customers, asserting that it is comparable to Nvidia’s H100.

Nevertheless, it is also important to acknowledge that the Chinese tech company is currently overshadowed by the American AI giant in the global AI industry.

This can be attributed to the obstacles encountered by Chinese firms as a result of the trade restrictions and business sanctions implemented by the United States following the implementation of AI chips.

The United States also revoked licenses earlier this year that allowed tech giants like Intel and Qualcomm to supply Huawei with chips used in laptops and handsets. However, it is anticipated that the Ascend 910C AI chip will be a game-changing innovation for the Chinese technology company.

The American tech behemoth has already achieved a significant milestone by capitalizing on the market with a staggering $2.68 trillion valuation.

It is intriguing that recent reports indicate that Nvidia, which is led by Jensen Huang, is anticipated to provide over one million units of its new H20 processors to Chinese customers

This is due to the strategically designed chips that circumvent U.S. restrictions on the sale of AI processors to China.

Conversely, amid the ongoing U.S. presidential elections, the CEO’s most recent statements have prompted additional discourse across the country.

Jnsen Huang Requests a Debate Between Trump and Harris

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, recently addressed X, expressing his enthusiasm for the planned AI-focused debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

Additionally, in response to the most recent Trump interview, he stated, “I am impartial, in contrast to Elon Musk.”

Furthermore, it is important to note that the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX extended an invitation to Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, to participate in an interview regarding X spaces.

This follows the recent Trump interview, prompting discussions across the U.S. amid the ongoing presidential elections.

Also, it’s worth noting that the NVDA stock price rested at $114.23 today, a 4.78% increase, per Nasdaq data.
