NetVRk is celebrating Coolio’s “Gangsta’s Paradise” 30th anniversary with a metaverse tribute that blends nostalgia and Web3 technology.
Coolio’s hit single “Gangsta’s Paradise” would have been unimaginable to anyone in the 90s hip hop and R&B scene as it celebrated its 30th anniversary in a digital estate in the metaverse.
The metaverse project NetVRk has unveiled its intentions to develop an immersive digital experience that pays tribute to the star’s legacy and introduces him to a new generation of admirers by combining Web3 technology with old-school nostalgia.
Coolio’s Metaverse Vision
“Gangsta’s Paradise,” Coolio’s iconic track, has captivated listeners for nearly three decades since its release and is soon to commemorate its 30th anniversary next year.
The song has firmly established its position in music history, with over 1.5 billion views on YouTube. NetVRk is capitalizing on the opportunity to recognize Coolio in the digital sphere.
Coolio was profoundly interested in the metaverse and its potential for artists prior to his untimely passing in 2022.
He was quoted on the Crypto Island pod as stating that he was “heavily invested” in the metaverse and had already acquired a “nice swath of land” in the metaverse, which was his last known interview prior to his demise.
He was adamant that this would be a novel method of establishing a connection with his followers. Coolio even composed a tune that was inspired by the metaverse.
A collaboration with NetVRk that he completed shortly before his demise has now paved the way for a groundbreaking project: the transformation of him into a hyper-intelligent AI character within the metaverse.
Coolio’s “dream villa,” a meticulously designed digital mansion, will soon be accessible to Coolio’s fans in the forthcoming alpha release of NetVRk.
In a fully immersive environment, this virtual space, which has been designed to align with Coolio’s initial vision, will enable admirers to engage with his AI character and experience his voice, personality, and insights.
